If it wasn’t for that beautiful HEA, I think my feelings about this book would have been completely different. It was such a callous move and it left me stunned. What truly bothered me was how quick Ronan was to drop Daisy during a heartbreaking moment in her life. Yes, there is a major age difference between them (Daisy is 21 and Ronan is 56). I loved ‘Highest Bidder’, but I did see one red flag about Ronan that bothered me and it has nothing to do with his age. Their romance has a slow burn feel, but I really liked Daisy and Kade’s connection too much to care. Then comes Ronan Kade, a rich Dom with plenty of experience and an unexpected generous heart for Daisy’s terrible situation. But inside, her past is tragic and the secrets she is hiding are weighing her down. On the surface, she is just an ordinary drink server at the Salacious Players Club. Daisy Bennett and Ronan Kade’s relationship felt so reminiscent of Praise, but the storyline pulled at me harder than Charlie and Emerson’s ever did.
